A new restaurant is set to open in Cheltenham’s Regent Street, replacing the popular Japanese restaurant Koj.
BAO & BBQ is set to open at 3 Regent Street at the end of March 2021 — the former home of Master Chef star Andrew Kojima’s Koj which closed in September 2020.
The new venue is the brainchild of Cheltenham-based JM Socials, which was created by long-time friends Jay Ahmen and Michael Raphel.
In a teaser on social media, Michael revealed a taste of what to expect when BAO & BBQ opens, including delicious-looking bao buns and sizzling steaks.
The company already owns a number of restaurants in Cheltenham, including Prithvi on Bath Road, Bhoomi Kitchen on Suffolk Road and Holee Cow on Winchcombe Street — which recently launched "virtual vegan restaurant" Holee Cowless.
BAO + BBQ is due to welcome diners in March 2021, with the official opening date yet to be announced.
