Recharge your body and mind with an array of inspirational courses, workshops and talks at The Isbourne in Cheltenham.
The centre, which describes itself as a ‘pioneering hub of wellbeing and spiritual development’, has been registered as a charity since 1995 and promises to provide people with the tools, resources and encouragement to ‘inspire happier, healthier and more positive lives’.
Since 2014, the centre’s educational arm has been offering a range of endorsed and accredited courses with benefits to both professional practitioners and members of the public. Courses include learning how to perform Reiki on friends and family; beginners courses on subjects such as reflexology, astrology and Tarot reading; and courses in healing from pain. For practitioners, The Isbourne’s courses cover topics more business-like in nature; from creating a website through to improving your digital marketing; these courses are perfect for holistic practitioners who are keen to grow their businesses and further their professional development.
The Isbourne’s impressive range of courses and classes are taught by a team of over 100 recommended local practitioners who, in addition to teaching courses, also provide a number of one-on-one therapies and treatments inside the Isbourne’s light and spacious consultation rooms. Members of the public are invited to enjoy treatments including homeopathy, life coaching, past life regression, massage and sound healing; alongside workshops on subjects from veganism to creative writing.
Weekly classes in yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, Pilates, dance are also on offer, with a full class schedule available online.
The Isbourne also attracts an eclectic line-up of national and international guest speakers; from philosophers such as Tim Freke through to authors like Rennie Gould, there’s a diverse selection of events taking place throughout the year.
In addition to its on-site offering, The Isbourne partners with local businesses to provide Workplace Wellbeing – aiming to boost morale, increase productivity and decrease sick days as an investment in staff. These courses can be tailored to an individual company’s requirements. Not content with helping just its own clients, The Isbourne has offered a community outreach project since 2016; teams from The Isbourne visit groups such as Young Carers Gloucestershire or female offenders at HMP Eastwood Park, who can’t usually benefit from the venue’s eclectic range of services. The Isbourne says it is keen to expand its community outreach work.
Located at Wolseley House just by Cheltenham Town Hall, The Isbourne has a selection of light and spacious rooms available for hire, a café for visitors, and can accommodate most requirements, such as one-to-one therapies, workshops and corporate events. Visitors are also encouraged to browse the venue’s gift shop and pause for a while in the on-site holistic library.
