Craft beer bar and live music venue, The Thirsty Pine in Gloucester, is closing this August 2026.
The venue opened in what was formerly Jax Nightclub in October 2024, offering 34 different beers on draught, as well as a specialist Belgian beer bar and live performance space.
The Thirsty Pine had become somewhat of a home for grassroots live music in Gloucester, working closely with promoter Audio Junk Food to host regular showcases featuring Gloucestershire-based artists, and taking part in city-wide music events including Underground Festival, Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival, and Gloucester Folk Trail.
Announcing the closure on its Facebook page, a statement from The Thirsty Pine said: 'The Thirsty Pine Beer Cafe will be closing its doors this coming Sunday.
'We would like to thank everybody who's enjoyed one of our delicious beers, or enjoyed some fantastic music days and evenings, we've definitely had some fun times. And the closing of one chapter marks the start of something new and exciting for the venue very soon so keep a look out for more information on that.
'And of course we're not going out without a couple of free events to finish on. Saturday night with Audio Junk Food we bring you our closedown party. And then on Sunday it's a good old Northern Soul afternoon.'
Audio Junk Food's closeout event features acoustic sets from country-tinged Britpop band, Truck, fresh from their Forest Stage set at 2000trees, with support from singer-songwriter Tan Sholto, exciting new Forest of Dean-based band Muntjac, and Not Dave, followed by a set from DJ Trashed.
Entry to both of its final weekend events is free, before The Thirsty Pine closes its doors for the last time on Sunday 31 August 2026.
