New managing director Camella Cephas is looking forward to shaping the future of WSP Solicitors.

Camella Cephas starts a new role as managing director at WSP Solicitors this July 2025.

Ahead of the huge new chapter in her career, SoGlos catches up with her to find out what lies ahead for her and the firm.

You're about to take up the managing director role at WSP Solicitors. How are you feeling?

I'm honoured and excited to take on the role of managing director at WSP Solicitors.

It marks an important new chapter and I feel confident and inspired by the chance to help shape the future of a firm I’ve been proud to contribute to for many years.

What is your vision for the future of WSP Solicitors?

I would like WSP to continue building on our strong foundation of being trusted and approachable.

My vision is to be a high-performing, forward-thinking firm.

Nurturing a culture of continuous learning that challenges us to grow, not just in size or turnover, but in impact building stronger relationships with our clients and modernising how we work.

This means embracing innovation while holding firmly to our values of being human, commercially successful and making life less complicated.

How does WSP Solicitors stand apart from other solicitors – what makes your team so special?

We combine professional expertise with a deep understanding of the people and communities we work with.

What makes us different is the level of personal care and understanding our teams bring to their work, from conveyancing and business services to family law and wills.

Clients trust us because we genuinely care, we are approachable, offer uncomplicated advice and legal expertise during some of life’s most significant and sometimes most difficult moments.

What first attracted you to the legal profession?

My passion for law began after watching a documentary on the Stephen Lawrence murder enquiry.

I was deeply moved by the injustice and how the legal system failed his family. It opened my eyes to the power and responsibility that comes with working in law.

I started out thinking I’d pursue criminal law but during my training contract I completed a seat in family law and it shifted my perspective.

I found a real passion for working with children and vulnerable individuals and the meaningful impact we can have on people's lives.

Helping to secure a safe and stable environment for a child or guiding a client through an incredibly difficult time with compassion and clarity is immensely rewarding.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I’m looking forward to shaping the future of the firm and empowering others to grow in their roles.

WSP Solicitors has served the Gloucestershire community for over 260 years and I want to build on that by strengthening our community relationships, supporting our people and ensuring we continue to deliver excellent service across every department.

Solicitors play a key role in society, especially for landmark moments in life – covering wills, weddings, divorce, business acquisitions and house sales to name a few. How do you feel about that responsibility and service to the community?

It’s a privilege to be trusted during such personal milestones.

Whether it’s helping a couple buy their first home, supporting a business owner through a sale or guiding a family through complex legal matters, we never take that trust for granted.

Our role is to provide clarity, confidence and compassion when people need it most.

WSP Solicitors supports lots of charities – do you have any fresh direction or vision for who you want to support in the coming months and years?

We’re committed to continuing our support for Maggie’s through our two-year partnership and beyond that, we’ll look for ways to support other charities doing meaningful work across Gloucestershire.

We want to support organisations that align with our values and allow our staff to get involved in giving back, not just financially but through time and expertise.

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?

Family is everything to me. I love reading, travelling and I’m actively involved in my church, particularly with children’s ministry and organising community activities and events.

What do you love about Gloucestershire? And where are some of your favourite areas to spend your free time?

I was born and raised here, so my connection to the area is strong.

I’ve lived in London but Gloucestershire is home; there’s something so grounding about the countryside and the sense of community.

I enjoy walking by Gloucester Docks, especially eating the brownies at Gloucester Food Dock, shopping in Gloucester Quays and enjoying those home comforts.

Where’s your favourite spot to eat and drink?

I enjoy eating out and trying different types of foods and drinking cocktails.

I don’t have a favourite spot but enjoy Gloucester Quays and many restaurants in and around Cheltenham.

What makes you proud to work for WSP Solicitors?

I’m proud to be part of a firm that’s growing with purpose.

WSP Solicitors isn’t just about legal services it’s about people.

Whether you’re a client, a colleague or a community partner, we’re here to advise and support.
