Griffiths Marshall Advisory Group is a Gloucestershire-based firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, supporting clients from sole traders and SMEs to multi-million-pound companies. Operating from offices across Gloucestershire, it provides a full suite of services including accounting, audit, tax, business advisory, probate and wealth management.

A trusted accountants that has served Gloucestershire businesses and individuals for nearly 40 years, Griffiths Marshall Advisory Group has branched out in the past year as a strategic adviser that helps clients to plan and grow.

Marking its expansion into the world of business advisory, the firm has unveiled fresh new branding this April 2026, including a complete redesign of its website.

SoGlos sits down with owner and director, Ian Price, to find out more about the growth of Griffiths Marshall, along with how its new look better reflects the higher value support the firm now provides.

Ian, why is Griffiths Marshall rebranding in 2026?

Over the past year, our firm has evolved significantly, particularly with the introduction of our business advisory service. We launched it quietly at first, taking the time to learn what clients valued, refine our approach and really embed those insights into the way we support businesses. After a year of listening, learning and delivering real impact, we’re now ready to push this offering forward with confidence.

From the outside, we may still look like a traditional accountancy firm, but the reality is that what we do and how we help our clients has changed dramatically. Yes, we’re still a trusted partner for compliance, but increasingly we’re acting as strategic advisers, helping clients plan, make decisions and achieve growth. Our brand needs to reflect that evolution.

This rebrand allows us to reposition the firm so our identity matches the strategic, higher value support we now provide. We’re modernising our look with a new logo, refreshed colours, updated signage and a totally redesigned website.

The firm celebrates its 40th anniversary next year. Tell us a bit about its beginnings and how it has grown over the years.

Griffiths Marshall was founded in Cheltenham by David Griffiths and Philip Marshall, later expanding in the late 1980s through the acquisition of Price Harris and its Gloucester office at Beaumont House. As the firm grew, leadership evolved – with Roger Apted, Chris Bourne and Steve Humphries guiding the practice for many years. When Roger left, I stepped in; and later Steve Price and Greg Lewis joined the partnership as Chris Bourne began to reduce his workload.

From 2020, the firm has adopted a more strategic approach to growth, which has seen it triple in size over the last five years. A key milestone was the acquisition of Cheltenham-based Paish Tooth in February 2022, significantly strengthening our team and service offering.

As the business expanded, space in Gloucester became limited, prompting a move to Llanthony Warehouse at Gloucester Docks. The new space reflects the modern, collaborative firm Griffiths Marshall has become and has helped build a vibrant culture with a real buzz across the team.

Tell us a bit about your personal journey with Griffiths Marshall.

I’ve been with Griffiths Marshall for almost my entire career. I joined as a trainee back in 2000, qualified in 2005 and became a partner in 2009, which at the time made me the youngest partner in the firm’s history. Working across every area of the practice over the years has given me a real understanding of our clients’ needs and the way the firm has evolved.

One of the things that has kept me here for so long is the culture. Griffiths Marshall has always been a place that invests in people and supports long term careers. Many of our team have been with the firm for decades; and that continuity creates a level of trust and consistency that clients really value. It’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

Today my role is focused on business development and shaping the future direction of the firm, but I still like to remain hands on. I often lead our initial consultation calls because I think it’s important to understand clients’ goals right from the start. My passion has always been helping ambitious business owners move beyond compliance and focus on meaningful growth. That has been a major driver behind our expanding advisory services and a key part of what this rebrand represents.

It’s been a rewarding journey so far; and I’m excited to help guide the firm through its next chapter as we build on nearly 40 years of experience and look ahead to the future.

How will the rebrand affect the services you provide to clients?

Importantly, what isn’t changing is the team behind Griffiths Marshall. The rebrand won’t change the services we provide or the way we support our clients day to day. Clients will continue to work with the same people they know and trust, delivering the same high level of service – just with a clearer, more modern expression of who we are today.

Are there any more exciting plans in the pipeline for 2026 and beyond?

In 2026 we’re continuing to grow our team, which puts us in a stronger position to support clients and develop new areas of expertise. One of those areas is corporate finance. Over the past year we’ve assisted with several business sales – this builds naturally on our advisory work, as more clients start thinking about succession and long-term exit planning.

We’re also planning more in-office events for our clients. These will be practical, added value sessions where people can learn directly from our team and connect with other business owners. We have a great deal of knowledge across the firm; and we want to share that more proactively.

Finally, we’ll be putting renewed focus into the Griffiths Marshall Foundation. The charity has been in place for several years but hasn’t had the resource to grow. With a strengthened team, we’re looking forward to reinvigorating our fundraising and making a greater contribution to our local community.

Overall, the year ahead is about creating more value for our clients and for Gloucestershire as a whole.

What do you enjoy most about working with Gloucestershire clients?

What we enjoy most about working with Gloucestershire clients is how straight‑talking, honest and loyal they are. There’s a real openness in the way people do business here, which makes for strong, long‑lasting relationships.

Gloucester and the wider county is full of fantastic businesses with huge potential; and with the right support, they really can thrive. For us, the best part is seeing clients achieve their goals – whether they’re big ambitions or small, meaningful wins.

We also love the diversity of industries across Gloucestershire. Every client challenge is different, and finding positive, practical solutions that genuinely move a business forward is incredibly rewarding.
