After launching HUM, its online singing and wellbeing programme in January 2021, Gloucestershire-based On:Song is giving everyone in the UK free access to its singing and wellbeing workshops, during England’s third national lockdown.
The on-demand workshops will be available for free in the UK during lockdown, giving participants the opportunity to explore vocal techniques, singing and breathing, to help improve wellbeing, calmness and positivity.
On:Song is also offering NHS workers a free full membership to HUM until Friday 19 February 2021, which includes twice weekly workshops hosted live on Zoom, as well as a library of extra content available on demand.
Co-founder of On:Song, George Bell, said: ‘Businesses with employees working from home, parents juggling home schooling, people living alone, and everyone who has suddenly become forced to stay at home to play their part will no doubt, be feeling the stresses and strains that come hand in hand with a lockdown.
‘A key value for us, is to get as many people singing as possible. Our advocacy work and indeed mission focuses on promoting the benefits of group singing to promote wellbeing.’
With another national lockdown taking its toll on people’s mental health, On:Song aims to counter this by promoting the wellbeing benefits of group singing – including 6 ways singing can improve your mental health in 2021 – in a safe, socially distanced way.
