A student at The King’s School in Gloucester is starring in the lead role in a new children’s TV series.
Eloise Little, who is a GCSE student at King’s, will play lead character Theodosia Throckmorton in Theodosia – a magical, Egyptology themed series being produced by Cottonwood Media.
Based on the book series by New York Times bestselling author, Robin L. LaFevers, Theodosia is set in 1906 and follows the story of a special girl with the power to see and transform ancient curses.
While her feminist archaeologist mum and museum-running dad are excavating in the Valley of the Kings, Theodosia and her younger brother Henry stumble upon the ‘Eye of Horus’ inside a hidden tomb, unlocking a world of magic, mystery and danger.
Executive producer, Joe Williams, said: ‘When I first read Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos, I instantly fell in love with the world Robin LaFevers created.
‘It’s been a real privilege and a lot of fun adapting the books for the screen with the help of a wonderful team. It has everything a writer could wish for – magic, mystery and Mummies!’
Actor Eloise is no stranger to the big screen having already starred in an episode of Father Brown and acted as a double for Lyra in the BBC’s production of His Dark Materials.
Filming for Theodosia is due to start in April 2021 with a release date yet to be announced.
