Cirencester College has announced it has been successful in gaining £2.55 million of funding for a new building, allowing it to expand its provision of T-Level courses.
The investment will come from the government’s T-level Capital Fund and according to the Cotswold college will make ‘a substantial contribution to the cost’.
It is in addition to the building project already underway on the site – its £4.48 million Gloucestershire Applied Digital Skills Centre, made possible by funding from GFirst LEP, designed by Gloucester-based Roberts Limbrick Architects and built by EG Carter.
Cirencester College has established itself as a leading provider in the region for the new T-level qualifications, which it launched in September 2020.
The college describes them as ‘the new gold standard of education in this country, with 80 per cent being taught in the classroom and 20 per cent in a work placement’.
It already runs T-levels in digital, construction, health and childcare and education and from September 2022 it is adds engineering, finance, accounting and business management to its portfolio.
The government is providing £50 million to support 65 T-Level projects nationwide.
