Cotswold Airport's Aviation Scholarship 2026 will once again give local young people an insight into the industry.

Cotswold Airport, formerly RAF Kemble, has announced applications are now open for its annual Aviation Scholarship, returning from Tuesday 11 to Friday 21 August 2026.

Founded in 2007 by airport owner Ronan Harvey, the programme is designed to introduce young people to the broad range of experiences, roles and careers available within the general aviation community.

The scholarship is open to students aged between 15 and 17 on 21 August 2026, who live within 25 miles of the airport. No previous aviation experience or flying background is required to apply.

Across the 10-day programme, successful applicants will visit engineering and aircraft component manufacturing sites, as well as tour companies based at Cotswold Airport including Zero Avia and Vertical Aerospace, which are focused on designing and developing the aircraft of tomorrow.

Students will also receive introductions to airport firefighting, military operations, control tower operations and air traffic service provision, alongside an introduction to learning to fly. Last year’s graduates also experienced a mixture of flights in microlights, light aircraft and helicopters, made possible by the support of the airport’s on site flying schools.

Suzannah Harvey, CEO of Cotswold Airport, said: ‘We are so proud of what the scholarship program continues to deliver to its participants. We see such an enthusiastic response every year, with previous graduates from the program going on to fulfil their dreams of achieving diverse careers in the aviation industry.

‘It is a huge privilege to be able to share our love of all things aviation here at Cotswold, and the support of our amazing on site teams and tenants gives participants a really varied and broad introduction to the industry.

‘We can’t wait to receive this year’s applications and welcome the next cohort of future aviators to the airport later in 2026.’

Applications are open now via the airport's website and must be received by 5pm on Friday 9 March 2026.
