Cheltenham BID secures third term with majority ‘yes’ vote from local businesses

Cheltenham businesses have voted in favour of a third term for the spa town's Business Improvement District, which promotes Cheltenham as a safe, secure, attractive, clean, welcoming, vibrant and connected place to spend time.

Cheltenham’s town centre is set for another five years of investment and collaboration, as Cheltenham BID has been officially renewed for a third term following a resounding show of support from local businesses.

With 82 per cent voting in favour of the BID continuing, the result marks a strong vote of confidence in its mission to keep Cheltenham vibrant, welcoming and thriving.

Chief executive Francesca Inman expressed her gratitude to local businesses, saying: 'Thank you to all the businesses that voted. This result gives us a clear mandate to continue delivering for the town. We’ll stay focused on the practical things that make a difference day to day, while working together to keep Cheltenham moving in a positive direction.'

Since its launch, Cheltenham BID has played a key role in improving the town centre experience, from supporting high street businesses and events to enhancing safety and cleanliness and promoting Cheltenham as a premier destination for visitors and locals alike.

As the BID moves into its third term, it will focus on four strategic priorities:

  • Welcoming, ensuring the town is safe and clean
  • Connecting, bringing businesses together to influence positive change
  • Promoting, making sure businesses feel seen, supported and celebrated
  • Thriving, investing in people and supporting growth

Francesca added: 'Let's make the next five years truly remarkable - One Town and One Vision!'.
