Forget fluorescent strip lighting, the hum of the office photocopier and countless home-based distractions — a new boutique coworking concept has landed in Gloucestershire.

And SoGlos was lucky enough to join a series of successful taster days, to provide an insightful first look into the venture and its premium spaces.

Based on years of navigating remote and hybrid working setups that didn't quite hit the mark, Cowork & Country founder, Chris Woodley, has forged a membership-based network of refined workspaces across the county to help founders, consultants and independent professionals plug in and thrive.

With No.38 The Park, Cowley Manor, Malmaison, Ellenborough Park and The Greenway Hotel and Spa in Cheltenham all on the current roster, workers can access essentials such as wireless charging pads, noise cancelling headsets, HDMI and USB-C hubs and a secure high-speed connection, alongside a few things you probably wouldn't expect, like barista-made coffee on tap, fresh pastries and seasonal lunches served directly to your desk; no rigid membership bundles, or wasted perks; and even spa facilities in the pipeline.

Cowork and Country's flexible, tiered membership functions via the use of credits, rather than fixed bundles — with everything included in the monthly fee, with no hidden costs. These can be shared with up to two colleagues, friends or associates.

Workers can simply join a plan, receive monthly credits in a Cowork & Country wallet app and use them to book a desk for focus, a room to meet, a Zoom Hub to connect or a Signature Day that feels like a retreat.

To offer added flexibility, workers can roll over up to 30 per cent of monthly credits into the following month.

For example, if you’re on a 120-credit monthly plan, you can roll over up to 36 credits each month. The limit is to stop large backlogs of credits building up and to ensure availability without bottlenecks in future months.

The membership also allows for rotating access to its handpicked hotel venues on selected days between Monday and Thursday — and with venues rotating monthly, each visit feels fresh and inspiring.

This includes the opportunity to book a thoughtfully curated Signature Day, which includes complimentary refreshments and a luxury buffet style lunch, leaving workers with one less thing to think about so they can really focus on the work at hand.

Whether you're a small startup or part of something bigger, every venue offers a mix of quiet studies for deep focus, collaborative settings for teamwork and relaxed lounges for creativity and informal meetings.

Private rooms and Zoom hubs are also available to book, offering a calm and distraction-free space for team sessions, pitches or quick calls.
