A new awards scheme is launching in the Forest of Dean in 2025, celebrating the 'excellence' of local businesses across all sectors.
The chosen winners of the first ever Forest Innovation Awards, led by the Forest Economic Partnership (FEP), will receive a £1,000 cash prize, too.
The FEP says the new awards will 'spotlight the most forward-thinking and enterprising businesses' across the Forest of Dean, rewarding those that are 'driving innovation and fostering economic growth' in the district.
Businesses that have demonstrated 'exceptional' innovation and creativity – from the launch of a 'ground-breaking' new product, to work to transform their operations or develop a unique approach to customer service – are encouraged to apply.
The deadline to enter the awards is Friday 31 May, with the winners being revealed at the FEP's stakeholder meeting on Wednesday 11 June 2025.
Ensuring that businesses of all sizes are recognised, there are two award categories: category one for businesses with less than 99 employees; and category two for those with 100 or more.
Launched in 2018 by Forest of Dean District Council, the FEP is a collaboration between businesses, local councils and residents which aims to create 'a thriving and sustainable economy' in the Forest of Dean, by identifying the challenges facing the business community and developing solutions to help drive economic growth.
Vice chair of the FEP and Forest of Dean District Council cabinet member, Jonathan Lane said: 'We want to celebrate those who are not just embracing new ideas, but also driving economic growth and creating opportunities in our community.
'The FEP is committed to supporting these businesses, and we believe these awards will play a vital role in fostering a thriving and dynamic future for the Forest of Dean.'
