A Cheltenham-based HR provider is helping Gloucestershire businesses get ahead when it comes to how their teams are using AI, with a brand-new, free-to-download resource and two roundtable events.
Part of its 'AI and HR: The New Reality' events and resources series, HR People Support has launched its latest resource 'Is your HR ready for AI?' – an online checklist to help business leaders reflect on their AI readiness and identify where they'd like to get to.
The support comes with the latest research from Microsoft showing 71 per cent of employees in the UK have used AI tools, such as Chat GPT, Copilot or browser plugins, at work, either with or without their manager's approval – a growing trend known as 'shadow AI'.
The 'New Reality' series aims to help decision makers develop an effective AI policy that takes into account what's already happening and the risks to consider; and outlines the appropriate action to take.
The free guide is laid out as a checklist to help businesses spot gaps in their approach and prompt internal conversations, in areas from the legal responsibilities for employers, to how AI use affects your people and their roles.
Businesses who are keen to develop their planning further are also encouraged to attend two upcoming roundtable events from HR People Support at Festival House in Cheltenham.
The practical, in-person sessions – 'AI at Work: What Every Employer Needs to Know' on Tuesday 24 February; and 'The People Side of AI: How to Future-Proof Roles, Skills & Culture' on Monday 9 March 2026 – will involve learning and discussion around the issues raised in the guide, giving business leaders the confidence to make informed decisions and a simple framework from which to build their policy.
