Gloucestershire-based chartered accountants and business advisers, Griffiths Marshall Advisory Group, is giving back to the community that has supported its success for over 40 years, by reigniting its charity foundation.
The firm, which is headquartered at Gloucester Docks and also has an office in Lydney, first launched its charitable arm – the Griffiths Marshall Foundation – in 2021, with the aim of raising vital funds for local organisations which provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people to grow, learn and enjoy new experiences through leisure, sport and education.
Following a period of expansion for the group in recent years, culminating in its rebrand in 2026, the firm is now reviving the foundation with fresh fundraising and awareness activity – and is encouraging more businesses and charities to get involved.
To celebrate, the Griffiths Marshall team came together with invited guests including representatives of local charities for a summer party at Llanthony Secunda Priory, this July 2026.
Guests enjoyed wood-fired pizza from Bella Mia Pizza – which donated 15 per cent of its sales on the night to the foundation – along with garden games, charity presentations, bingo and a 'Foundation Fizz' cocktail, produced in collaboration with Gloucester Brewery.
Bingo prizes were donated by the firm and local businesses, including Gloucester Brewery, The Pie House at Cinderhill Farm, Vineyard Pottery, Bake & Brew, Wholly Gelato, Hetty’s Place, and Cineworld and Lindt at Gloucester Quays, while the headline prize was donated by Griffiths Marshall – a Financial Clarity Pack for businesses worth £2,500, courtesy of its business advisory team.
In all, the foundation raised over £500 from the event, with Griffiths Marshall wishing a 'big thanks' to Cheltenham firm Acorn Business Finance who matched that amount, bringing the total to over £1,000.
The foundation is built on the firm's long-standing relationships with local people, charities and organisations, and aims to use its platform, resources and networks to 'strengthen local causes and improve lives across Gloucestershire'.
In March 2025, the foundation presented a £5,000 donation to Heart Heroes, which provides subsidised social events for children and their families living with heart conditions. Representatives from the charity spoke at the summer party about the difference it has made.
The grant went towards the charity's I CAN Project, funding monthly sessions across Gloucestershire that give children the chance to build confidence, develop new skills and connect with peers who understand life with a heart condition. It covered specialist activities, resources, venue costs and therapeutic support.
Businesses are being encouraged to help fundraise for the foundation, through making sponsorships or larger donations, bringing teams together to raise funds collaboratively, and continuing to support its events.
And Gloucestershire-based charities can apply for grants from the foundation by completing its grant application form, in line with the criteria set out in its Grant Making Policy, too.
