Highlighting an 'exceptional' year for the Cheltenham-headquartered firm, Hazlewoods has been ranked one of the top five most active corporate financial advisory teams in the UK for 2025.
Global business data and tech company Experian's annual MarketIQ mergers and acquisitions (M&A) report ranks Hazlewoods as the UK's fourth most active financial advisor of last year, with the firm having supported on 142 completed transactions with a combined value of over £1.3 billion – its strongest 12-month performance to date.
Hazlewoods says its upward movement in the Experian league tables 'solidifies' its reputation as a 'high performing, strategically focused national adviser operating at the highest level of the UK mid-market', supporting entrepreneurs, business owners, and investors across a diverse range of sectors.
Its national ranking is boosted by regional expansion across Cheltenham, Bristol, and Cardiff – areas that continue to attract significant UK and international investment – with 27 per cent of all 2025 deals completed in the south west, where it ranked 3rd; and in Wales, rising from 10th to 4th place.
Its increasing scale and influence is reflected through its UK-wide performance across the league tables, too, with a top three spot in the south east, top five ranking across London, in the east of England and the north west; and a top 10 position in the midlands, north east and Scotland.
John Lucas, Hazlewoods M&A partner, commented: 'Our national footprint is expanding and our presence across multiple UK regions continues to strengthen. This ranking marks more than a successful year – it demonstrates the momentum we’re building alongside ambitious clients who are investing, innovating and driving growth in every corner of the UK.'
Transaction services partner, Richard Dade, added: 'This also reflects the depth of expertise within our growing team, now more than 50 corporate finance specialists advising across high growth sectors including health and social care, financial and professional services, education, legal, dental, veterinary, technology and industrials to name a few.
'Our sector breadth and technical capability enable us to support clients through increasingly complex transactions with an end-to-end service offering, delivering high quality advice and outcomes.'
