The Greenway Hotel in Shurdington, which boasts an award-winning spa and three AA Rosette restaurant, was acquired by Eden Hotel Collection in 2011.

The owner and operator of Cheltenham's The Greenway Hotel, Eden Hotel Collection, has been recognised as one of the best hospitality employers in the UK, landing a prestigious national award and also being named one of the country's best places to work.

The group — which owns the luxurious 16th century Elizabethan manor house hotel on the edge of Cheltenham, boasting an award-winning spa and three AA Rosette restaurant — picked up the award for Best Employer at the national Springboard Awards for Excellence 2025 last month.

And it followed up that success by being named one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2025 by multimedia brand The Caterer — for the second year in a row — this May 2025.

The group, which employs 550 people across luxury hotels in Devon, Kidderminster, Leamington and Stratford Upon Avon as well as The Greenway, says the Excellence award from Springboard – a charity which aims to 'futureproof' the UK's talent pipeline for hospitality through promotion and training – 'recognises our people, our shared values and the positive culture we strive to create in our hotels every day – where every team member feels valued and knows they make a difference'.

The awards judges said: 'Eden Hotel Collection demonstrated a remarkable commitment to nurturing and developing their team through innovative initiatives and a people-first approach — a true exemplar of excellence in the hospitality industry.'

And the company says that retaining its place in The Caterer Best Places to Work in the UK list for 2025 — placing it in the UK's top 30 hospitality businesses — 'means the world to us, as it reflects the incredible effort our teams put into creating a workplace where people feel happy, valued and empowered every day'.

Also making the list this year is independent group of Japanese restaurants KIBOU, which has a restaurant in Cheltenham.

Mark E Chambers, Eden's managing director said: 'A happy, motivated workforce is our greatest asset as a business, which is why surveys such as Best Places To Work are important to understand how we can remain one of the industry leaders, when it comes to being both an employer and a leading hotel collection.'
