Active Gloucestershire is looking for its next CEO as Tom Beasley steps down this August 2025.

Independent health and fitness charity Active Gloucestershire is seeking a brand-new CEO as it announces the step-down of its predecessor in August 2025.

After five years in the position and seven years at the charity in total, Tom Beasley shared the news on LinkedIn, stating that the decision had been 'difficult' but that it had 'been an absolute privilege to work with a brilliant team, a supportive board and a dedicated network of partners.'

Tom first joined the Gloucester-based charity in 2018, becoming CEO right at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Active Gloucestershire said: 'His leadership through such an extraordinary period has been instrumental in shaping our organisation and strengthening our mission to help people across Gloucestershire move more, live healthier and feel more connected.'

Under Tom's guidance, the charity navigated the pandemic; launched a new county-wide strategy for physical activity; and secured long-term investment from partners including Sport England and NHS Gloucestershire.

Its chair of trustees, Emma Owen, added: 'On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Tom for his leadership and vision.

'This is an exciting moment for Active Gloucestershire as we begin the search for a new CEO to take us forward into the next chapter of our strategy.'

As the recruitment for his replacement begins, the team is looking for someone who will be responsible for driving the charity's mission forward, building strong partnerships and supporting its highly motivated and inclusive team.

Potential candidates can access the job description and recruitment pack by contacting Moon Charity Practice via email.
