Stagecoach is aiming to provide better connectivity for those travelling around Cheltenham with improved links to the rail station, Arle Court Transport Hub and surrounding communities.

Residents and commuters in and around Cheltenham can now benefit from new and improved bus services, with Stagecoach revamping its network in the borough.

Aiming to provide faster connections and more journeys for people who live and work in the area, the operator has made several improvements to its services this September 2025, from new connections between the town and surrounding areas, to better journey times on key routes.

Timetable changes include extra journeys on route A with a bus every 12 minutes, extending to the Arle Court Transport Hub to encourage more journeys to work and provide better connections from the west of Cheltenham to Gloucester.

More journeys between Bishop's Cleeve, the town centre and Cheltenham Spa Railway Station have been added, along with more links to the rail station in general; and improved links with the three main University of Gloucestershire campuses.

A larger area of Hatherley is covered including through services 97/98, providing better direct links to Gloucester; and a new service F has been introduced connecting The Reddings, Hatherley and Warden Hill with Cheltenham General Hospital and the town centre.

There are also improvements on a number of other services such as the C, connecting Cheltenham town centre with Kingsditch Retail Park, Springbank, Fiddler's Green and Arle, which now benefits from better connectivity and improved frequency; and there are improved journey times on the B and 10 services.

Some of the improvements have been funded through Gloucestershire County Council's Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), along with improvements to services in Stroud which have also launched this month.

Stagecoach West managing director, Chris Hanson said: 'We know how vital our bus services are for the people of Gloucestershire and that’s why we have worked hard to boost our services and frequency where people need our services the most.

'These changes make getting the bus a reliable, frequent, cost effective travel solution to travel throughout Gloucester, Cheltenham and Stroud'.
