Cheltenham and Gloucester are both ranked in the top 10 best places in England.

A new study by Coworking Cafe has named two Gloucestershire locations in its top ten best places to live in England for working mums.

The coworking company analysed over 80 cities and towns across England, looking at four main categories – work, education, health and environment, and affordability.

It looked at key metrics such as women’s employment, income, childcare availability and hourly fees, school access and performance, healthcare, air quality, green space, housing affordability and more.

Coming in at an impressive number two on the list of the overall best cities and towns for working mums in England is Cheltenham.

The high ranking reflects the town's number of excellent-rated schools 'within easy reach'; affordable childcare access; plenty of work opportunities; cleaner air for kids; access to GP and primary care services; and shorter working weeks.

It also scored at number five nationally for having the best 'support stronghold', meaning its 'reliable access to jobs, childcare and healthcare'.

Also making it on to the top 10 list was Gloucester, coming in at number eight for best overall city and number eight for best support stronghold.

Gloucester was praised for its high number of women in jobs; the number of schools within easy reach; healthcare access; access to outdoor green spaces; and affordable childcare services.

Pipping Cheltenham to the top spot is Lancaster at number one, while the rest of the top ten is heavily dominated by the north west, with Newcastle-under-Lyme, Chester, Warrington, Birkenhead, Newcastle, Exeter and Winchester all scoring highly.
