The new Start and Grow programme from the University of Gloucestershire and Gloucester City Council will help Gloucester-based entrepreneurs and business owners aged 18 to 30.

Young entrepreneurs and business owners in Gloucester can benefit from free advice and mentoring from the University of Gloucestershire, thanks to its new Start and Grow programme.

Teaming up with Gloucester City Council, the new version of Start and Grow is aimed at those aged 18 to 30 who are just launching a business, or who have been running their business for less than three years.

Participants can benefit from a range of free resources, including skills workshops; networking opportunities; practical advice on branding, finance, marketing and leadership; as well as mentoring from experienced business owners and entrepreneurs.

Head of external relationships at the University of Gloucestershire, Alex Cottrell, said: 'Building on the success of our Growth Hub and previous programmes for startups, we are really delighted to be working with City Council colleagues to provide a range of services to support the future growth and prosperity of Gloucester.

'With our new City Campus opening shortly, we see our role within Gloucester as key to opening opportunities for everyone and building a connected community, set for success.'

Nana Pierre, economic growth officer at Gloucester City Council, added: 'The Start and Grow programme funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund will support local businesses to increase confidence, innovation and professional networks.

'Gloucester is an enterprising city and University of Gloucestershire’s Start and Grow programme is an excellent opportunity to develop the seeds of early-stage enterprises into viable business ventures.'

Aimed exclusively at businesses based in Gloucester, entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 30-years-old who are just beginning their journey into business with an initial idea, or who have been running their business for less than three years, are invited to sign up – with more information available from the Start and Grow Facebook and LinkedIn pages.
