Nick Gazzard OBE, founder of Gloucestershire-based charity the Hollie Gazzard Trust, has been named in Esquire's inaugural Better Men list.

Esquire published The Better Men List on Wednesday 12 November 2025 to celebrate male role models who are 'defining positive masculinity'.

The list features a number of high-profile names including Prince William; actors Andrew Scott, Alexander Skarsgård, Jacob Elordi, Richard E Grant and Sir Ian McKellen; director Ryan Coogler; sportsmen including Gary Lineker, Sir Lewis Hamilton, Arsenal player Bukayo Saka and Olympian Sir Chris Hoy; musicians Nick Cave, Stormzy, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Lewis Capaldi and Harry Styles; comedians James Acaster and Bob Mortimer; journalist Louis Theroux; author Ian McEwan; poet Ocean Vuong; mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham; and Gloucestershire's very own Nick Gazzard.

Dubbing Nick 'The Protector', the judging panel praised him for his tireless fight against domestic abuse, driven by a vow to make sure that daughter Hollie, who was murdered by her ex-partner, would never be 'just another statistic'.

His entry also acknowledged the groundbreaking HollieGuard app, used by hundreds of thousands of people all over the country and endorsed by the police, as well as Nick's OBE, which he received in January 2025.

Nick said: 'This is a huge honour and privilege to be included in the inaugural Better Men List 2025 of Esquire magazine. It’s an esteemed list of individuals and to be chosen as ‘The Protector’ is fantastic.

'To be included with the likes of Prince William, Sir Ian McKellen, Stephen Graham, Ben Stokes, Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Mark Rylance, Ian Wright, Stormzy, Sir Lewis Hamilton and so many more is such a privilege. Thank you to Esquire for recognising my work and the work of the Hollie Gazzard Trust.'
