After a phenomenal performance from Steps at Cheltenham’s Town FCs ground on Saturday 26 May 2018, the club’s director Paul Bence has exclusively revealed to SoGlos that more concerts will be hosted at the ground over the next two years.

Mr Bence confirmed that he has signed a three-year deal with concert promoters the Liz Hobbs Group and is in talks about some big named performers for the 2019 and 2020 off season: ‘We’re looking at performers like Craig David, Rita Ora, Simple Minds and The Pretenders, but there’s also one other huge name which would be amazing, but I can’t discuss that until it’s confirmed.’

Around 3,500 people attended the club’s first ever gig, where crowds were entertained by pop sensation Steps, and boy-band, Blue.

Mr Bence continued: ‘For a first performance we were happy with how it went, we didn’t quite get there on numbers, but the feedback from the people of Cheltenham has been really positive. Most importantly, our groundman was happy too!’

Because of the diverse range of acts being discussed for the next two years, the club is also considering running concerts over a whole weekend, rather than just for one night.
