This summer, The Beefy Boys in Cheltenham is featuring in a brand-new BBC TV series hosted by Gloucester-born celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge.

The Hidden World of Hospitality with Tom Kerridge featuring The Beefy Boys airs on BBC Two at 8pm on Thursday 3 August 2023 and will be also be available to stream on iPlayer.

The series aims to give viewers an inside look at life in the hospitality industry and the risks business owners take to move the industry forward. With the episode featuring The Beefy Boys seeing Kerridge spend time with the team as they prepared to open its Cheltenham restaurant in February 2023, as well as visiting the flagship 'meat boutique' in Hereford.

Founded in 2011 by four childhood friends from Hereford who started out cooking burgers on a barbecue in their back garden, The Beefy Boys has built both a cult following with fans and a great reputation in the hospitality industry for using only 100 per cent fresh Herefordshire beef in its smashed patties alongside award-winning flavours.

The Beefy Boys took home its first award for best burger at Grillstock — the UK's biggest barbecue competition — in 2014, before going on to win World's Best Burger at the The World Food Championships in Las Vegas in 2015.

It opened its first restaurant in its hometown of Hereford in 2016 and now has two more venues in Shrewsbury and Cheltenham — and is officially home to the 'UK's best burger', after winning Burger of the Year at the National Burger Awards 2023

Co-founder Anthony 'Murf' Murphy was also crowned Burger Chef of the Year at the event, just days before opening the Cheltenham restaurant.

He said: 'It’s been a tough few years for the hospitality industry, and we have had to adapt our business along the way to tackle the constant challenges that restaurant owners face.

'We are so thrilled to be part of this new BBC series, and to share The Beefy Boys’ journey so far.'
