Cult Cheltenham street food brand is closing its restaurant to focus on events and residencies

A Gloucestershire street food brand that's known for its loaded hotdogs and dirty burgers, The Woozy Pig, is closing its Cheltenham restaurant this May 2026, pivoting its focus back to residencies and events.

It's 'the end of an era, but not the end of the mighty Woozy Pig', the brand's owners said as they announced the closure of their Suffolks restaurant.

Cheltenham's The Woozy Pig is closing its only standalone restaurant this May 2026, in order to focus on 'slinging street food to the masses' at its residencies and events.

The cult street food brand, renowned for its dirty burgers, loaded hotdogs and fries, and pulled meat baps, revealed the news on social media that this week would be its last at its restaurant on Suffolk Road, which it opened a year ago in May 2025.

Founded in 2017, The Woozy Pig previously focussed on local residencies – including at Cheltenham's Dunkertons Park, where it also runs Casa Loca Tacos – and appearances at Gloucestershire's biggest festivals and events, in food trucks including its signature airstream.

And its owners feel the time is right to return to those roots – a part of the business which is busier than it's ever been.

Its Instagram post read: 'We are so so proud of what we have built here, and our amazing team, and whilst we've had a great run, we have decided to focus back on our roots, and what we do best... slinging epic street food to the masses at our residencies, festivals and events.

'We are currently busier than we've ever been and can't wait to put more of our energy back into the events, and you can expect some exciting new menu additions to both our sites over at Dunkertons Park.'

Diners will still be able to get their Woozy Pig fix from Deliveroo, which will remain open 'for the time being' – and there will also be a farewell party at the restaurant.

And while this week will be diners' last chance to book a table in The Suffolks, the owners say it will likely not be their last 'bricks and mortar' establishment.

They added: 'We want to say a huge thank you, and also express just how extremely grateful we are to everyone that's dined with us since we opened. All the reviews and lovely comments.

'We ranked as OpenTable's top 100 restaurants in the UK in 2026 which is quite an achievement, and I'm sure it won't be our last bricks and mortar, it just feels the time is right to focus elsewhere.'
