Frampton-on-Severn's The Three Horseshoes pub is back under family ownership, as plans for its revival are officially set in motion.
Purchased by the son of Alison and Easton Hogben of Quality Inns, 29-year-old Redford 'Red' Hogben, the pub was once owned by Red's grandfather, Ron, from 1978 until 1987.

Closing its doors in June 2024, the pub has been a village favourite for more than 150 years, even becoming an official Asset of Community Value (ACV) in October 2024, after a community-led application was approved by Stroud District Council.
An ACV protects 'a building or piece of land that is used to further the social wellbeing or interests of the local community', so that the community's wishes are taken into account when officials come to consider future planning applications.
Quality Inns operates 15 hospitality businesses across Gloucestershire and Devon, including The Bell Inn at Frampton, but this is Red's first business independently, marking an exciting new chapter for both him and the local community – with the latter being undoubtedly pleased that it's being kept in the family.
Commenting on his first purchase, Red said: 'I’m excited to bring The Horseshoes back to life and back into our family again.
'It has played an important role in the village for generations and to be part of the pub’s next chapter feels special.
'I want the pub to retain its community roots and hope that locals and visitors to the village will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, great local ales and, in time, a proper pub menu featuring real English food wherever possible.'
The Three Horseshoes will remain closed for refurbishment, with a soft launch planned for October 2025 – so stay updated with SoGlos on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
