Palm Flow Pilates offers classes for both beginners and experienced practitioners, on the reformer and the mat, at its stylish new studio in Gloucester.

Whether you're jumping on the reformer trend or prefer to keep your feet on the mat, Pilates fans have a new place to work out in Gloucester, with the opening of brand-new studio, Palm Flow.

The new studio, located off Great Western Road opposite Gloucester Royal Hospital, brings mat and reformer Pilates to the heart of the city, with classes to suit all abilities now available to book.

Whether you're fully adept or a total beginner, the studio has a team of experienced instructors in both disciplines, that can help you get to grips with the essentials, or take your movement to the next level – ideal for anyone who wants to improve and maintain their body's strength and flexibility.

It's keen to promote that Pilates isn't just for women, as there's a male instructor in the team, too.

The studio provides all the equipment you need to take part, from state-of-the-art reformer machines, to mats, rings and balls.

The former office space at Pullman Court has undergone a complete transformation, now boasting a modern design that instils focus and mindfulness, with practical elements like herringbone wood flooring, back-lit arched mirrors and daylight-mimicking LED ceiling lights.

A feature wall with strip lighting mounted in waves and curved wooden partitions reflect the studio's 'flow' theme, while splashes of green, painted leaf murals and corner plants capture the 'palm' element.

Its reformer classes include Intro to Flow, where an instructor takes you through essential exercises at a supportive pace that's ideal for beginners; and Palm Sculpt & Strength, which moves at a faster pace with more complex movement patterns and increased resistance, aimed at building strength, endurance and coordination.

For mat, there's Flow Fundamentals, focussing on core engagement and proper alignment, with an emphasis on controlled movement and breathwork; and Palm Flow, which introduces challenging variations and increased intensity to enhance strength, endurance and coordination.

Pay-as-you-go classes cost £21 for reformer, or £12 for mat Pilates. The studio also offers membership deals, where eight classes per calendar month costs £135 for reformer; or £78 for mat – and owing to its location, there's also a 20 per cent Blue Light discount for all NHS and hospital staff.
