Extending its offering for members this summer, East Glos Club in Cheltenham has added a new sport to its lineup.
Members of the Cheltenham racket sports club, which already offers tennis, squash, padel and racketball, can now try their hand at pickleball — dubbed the fastest growing sport in the USA for four years running.
Pickleball is steadily growing in popularity in the UK, too, attracting players as a sociable sport that's easy to pick up and fun to play with friends in either singles or doubles
Combining elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis, pickleball is a low-impact sport that's easy on the joints, making it a great way to keep active and build fitness for all ages and abilities.
Giving members the opportunity to have a go, East Glos has converted its existing KidZone into a pickleball court, which doubles up as a practice area for children to work on their tennis skills.
The club's pickleball coach, Bjorn Merrett, is also running weekly pay and play coaching sessions, which are open to non-members as well.
Club members can book the pickleball court between 9am and 5pm, with all equipment available to borrow from reception.
