800 new build homes were completed in Tewkesbury between 2024 and 2025.

Data analysis experts at energy company, E.ON UK, have named Tewkesbury borough as one of the fastest growing areas in the UK.

Tewkesbury was found to have the fourth-highest number of new builds in the UK, with 8.38 new builds per 1,000 residents.

The new national study looked at government data to determine the number of new builds started between 2024 and 2025 and the number of new builds completed within this time frame.

Uttlesford in Essex took the number one spot, with 9.79 new builds per 1,000 people, with Watford at number two, Mid Suffolk at number three, Tewkesbury at number four and South Derbyshire at number five.

Tewkesbury has seen huge growth over the last few years, with sites such as Fiddington – home of Cotswolds Designer Outlet, too – and the Elms Park development in the works.

With 800 new builds completed from 730 plot starts in 2024 to 2025, Tewkesbury ranks fourth for completions per person, with the borough currently housing a population of 95,429.

Luke Ellis, director of E.ON UK Networks, said: 'This data shows where housing growth is accelerating – to unlock growth elsewhere, we need to overcome infrastructure challenges.

'Grid capacity can delay development, while areas with greater flexibility tend to progress faster.

'Continued investment in smart energy infrastructure will support communities in generating clean, local power and help deliver more energy-resilient homes.'
