A popular day out destination for Gloucestershire shoppers, Cabot Circus in nearby Bristol, has announced that it will reopen on Monday 15 June 2020, following the ease in lockdown restrictions.

While a small number of Cabot Circus’s essential shops remained open throughout, it will be the first time that non-essential shops can open since lockdown began on Monday 23 March 2020.

Some of Cabot Circus’s most popular stores include Zara, Harvey Nichols, Apple, Pull and Bear, Oliver Bonas, Mango, Urban Outfitters, Hollister, Vans and Office. With an up-to-date list of the shops that will open all due to be announced on the Cabot Circus website in due course.

Cabot Circus’s popular restaurants include Five Guys, Wagamama, The Real Greek and Gourmet Burger Kitchen, as just a few examples, with some expected to be open for takeaway. An up-to-date list of the eateries offering takeaways is also due to be announced on the Cabot Circus website.

New measures being introduced at Cabot Circus to keep people safe include social distancing signage around the shopping centre, PPE for customer-facing workers, fixed hand sanitiser stations and an outdoor queueing system to limit numbers inside shops at any one time. Shoppers are also encouraged to pay for their purchases with contactless payment.

Cabot Circus’s technical services manager, Lisa Jones, said: ‘We’re working really hard to make sure we can re-open on Monday 15 June 2020 and that we can do so safely.

‘We ask that people be patient with us though, as the way we shop is going to be different for a while, and visits might take longer than usual. We can’t wait to re-open and to welcome back our customers.’

The news comes after the announcement that John Lewis in Cheltenham will reopen in June.
