Wedding package options

As well as exclusive use options, Ellenborough Park offers flexible packages to suit both smaller and larger wedding parties.

Couples can exchange their vows in the elegant Old Chapel within Ellenborough Park’s expansive grounds, or for outdoor weddings, under the stone Gazebo on the venue’s South Lawn. During the summer, guests can take advantage of the sweeping Cotswold views with drinks and canapes on the Mews Lawn. Entertain your party with an outdoor bar, garden games, or instead take over the Horse Box bar, as a wet weather alternative.

Catering options can be created to suit most budgets, with a selection of menus crafted by Ellenborough Park’s executive chef using locally sourced ingredients. And if you love a party, the venue’s spacious function suites can be transformed into an unforgettable destination, perfect for dancing the night away.

The bride and groom can benefit from a bottle of champagne on the evening of their wedding, and a complimentary stay in a luxurious room within the five-star hotel. What’s more, guests can benefit from preferential rates to stay the night, too.

How much do weddings cost?

For couples looking to get married in 2022, venue hire costs from £1,000 for winter weddings taking place in January, February, March and November, up to £3,500 for summer weddings taking place from June to September.

Venue hire includes use of The Old Chapel for the ceremony, the Old Chapel Pavilion and Mews Lawn for the drinks reception and De La Bere Court for the wedding breakfast, as well as a silver cake stand and knife, dedicated banqueting manager and a suite for the newlyweds to spend the night. There is a minimum food and beverage spend of £120 per person required and a minimum of 70 guests.

For 2023 and 2024 weddings, venue hire costs from £1,500 to £4,000 with a minimum food and beverage spend of £125 per person.

South Gloucestershire wedding venues

Weddings at Thornbury Castle

About the wedding venue

Part of the Relais & Châteaux collection of gourmet restaurants and boutique hotels, Thornbury Castle in South Gloucestershire certainly has what it takes to deliver an exceptional experience on your big day.

In fact, it’s the only Tudor castle operating as a hotel, and it’s fit for royalty too, having welcomed King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, who spent several days there some 500 years ago.

From the Tudor Hall to the Chancellor’s Lounge and the Baron’s Sitting Room, the beautifully refurbished castle – complete with luxurious bedrooms and a 2 AA Rosette restaurant – is imbued with regal grandeur, inside and out.

Set in 15 acres of land with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, its manicured lawns are complemented by a scented rose garden and a winding labyrinth.

Wedding package options

Couples planning weddings of up to 20 guests can secure a private ceremony room and enjoy exclusive use of the Baron’s Sitting Room and adjoining Chancellors Lounge, plus a one night stay in their very own Superior Deluxe bedchamber.

Larger parties of up to 75 day guests and 120 evening guests can opt for partial hire of the castle, including the Tudor Hall, Private Bar and seven bedchambers, or exclusive use of the whole castle, including all 27 bedchambers and grounds.

As well as canapés and fizz, guests will be treated to a sit-down meal from one of several menus put forward by Thornbury’s executive chef, Carl Cleghorn, with wine pairings and an evening buffet.

Weddings at Blackwell Grange

Steeped in rich history and passed down through generations of the same family, the 16th and 17th century buildings at Blackwell Grange make for a spectacularly elegant wedding venue.

Like many of the spaces at Blackwell Grange, The Potting Shed dates back hundreds of years and has been transformed into a warm and inviting space for bridesmaids to prepare for the day ahead.

The 16th century Thatch Barn has been lovingly restored for civil ceremonies, while still retaining its historic character; and reserved solely for the wedding breakfast and evening celebration, the gorgeous Orchard Barn provides a great space for dancing and dining. Plus, there’s acres of countryside and exquisite gardens, providing the perfect backdrop for wedding snaps.

From the sweeping drive leading up to the 18th century country manor, to the deer that inhabit the 200-acre estate, Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire is a magical wedding venue at any time of year – and easily accessible from Bristol, south Wales and the Midlands.

Weddings at Painswick Rococo Garden
