Nineteen at Brickhampton

Unwind in a friendly atmosphere and let Brickhampton Court’s new restaurant Nineteen set the scene for a relaxed lunch or indulgent dinner overlooking the glorious golf course.

Launched in April 2022, its Sunday lunches are a popular treat, with reservations recommended.

The Old New Inn in Bourton-on-the-Water

The Old New Inn in Bourton-on-the-Water, reopened its Tap Room bar and restaurant for the first time in 10 years in 2022 with a major makeover.

Serving up country inn classics at lunch time and evening menus which reflect seasonal and local ingredients, the stylish Cotswolds inspired interior offers a warm welcome with its dining experience.

Miserden Estate near Stroud

Miserden Estate is launching woodland afternoon teas in May 2022.

Enjoyed beneath the canopy of trees, with a fern covered carpet below, the new experience promises to serve up a memorable meal.

The Glasshouse Café will also relaunch in 2022, offering visitors lunches and tea and cake in the beautiful airy surroundings. Pop-up restaurants are expected to return later in the year too – introducing a variety of foodie flavours and cooking styles.

Sam’s Montpellier in Cheltenham

Opening at the tail end of 2021, this stunning spot in Montpellier’s Courtyard has become a magnet for fans of Sam’s creative cooking.

The menu at Sam’s Montpellier offers a selection of small plates with ingredients showcased in enticing sections drawn from earth, land and sea.

Franco Manca in Cheltenham

The Italian pizzeria chain, which opened on Cheltenham’s Promenade in March 2022, has taken the town by storm with its appealing alfresco tables and colourful interior.

Franco Manca offers an accessible menu featuring signature sourdough pizzas and Italian specialities with toppings such as organic tomato, garlic, basil and oregano; roasted cured ham, British mozzarella, ricotta and wild mushrooms; cured chorizo; with plenty of vegan and gluten free options too.

YOKU in Cheltenham

This contemporary Japanese restaurant opened at Cheltenham’s fashionable No.131, in March 2022.

Owned by Jade and Julian Dunkerton, the Japanese sushi and Asian dining experience at YOKU combines aspirational dining and cocktails in an upmarket setting.

Chefs prepare meticulously presented sushi and YOKU signature dishes from an open kitchen, with its Bar Tokyo serving superb sake, Japanese wine and cocktails.

The Wilson Kitchen arts café in Cheltenham

Opening in late summer 2022, the brand-new café, taking up the ground floor of the art gallery, will be decorated with wallpaper recreating abstract pieces of art and fabrics from the Arts and Crafts movement.

The Wilson Kitchen will serve barista coffee and its new menu is set to be revealed in late July 2022.

Penny Blacks café and bakery in Prestbury

Transforming the former village post office into a stylish eatery, the popular café which serves breakfasts, brunches and lunches has established itself as the go-to foodie destination for villagers and walkers heading up or down Cleeve Hill.

Penny Blacks opened its doors in February 2022 and serves coffee, pastries and sourdough, as well as traditional favourites like dripping cakes, Chelsea buns, cherry Bakewells and rose Battenberg.

Bosco Pizzeria in Cheltenham

With popular restaurants in Bristol and Bath, Bosco Pizzeria will open its first Gloucestershire branch in Cheltenham’s Quadrangle in late May 2022.

Inspired by the best pizzerias of Naples and New York City, Bosco Pizzeria also features speciality seafood and fish dishes too.

The Daffodil in The Suffolks in Cheltenham

Refurbished in February 2022, the former 1920s cinema has enhanced its luxurious space by modernising its centrepiece bar as well as the kitchen.

The Daffodil will soon reveal a dedicated vegan menu, alongside its popular à la carte menu, bottomless Sunday lunch and great value lunch and early evening menu.

The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham

2022 has seen the opening of Vietnamese street food specialist Pho, hipster hotspot BrewDog and party style sharing bites alongside darts action at Flight Club.

And that’s on the back of some cracking new openings at the end of 2021 which saw brilliant burgers arrive with Hub Box as well as Indian darling Mowgli enticing new audiences.

Gloucester Food Dock at Gloucester Docks

Opening in summer 2022, this foodie hotspot will bring independents to the fore.

Already announced are Sibling Distillery, Strip Steak Bar, pizzeria Bella Mia and Wholly Gelato with 11 more outlets set to be revealed very soon.

Gloucester Food Dock is set to become a mecca for munchers from across Gloucestershire and beyond.

Fat Toni’s Pizzeria at Five Valleys Shopping Centre in Stroud

The popular pizza patrons, famed for their giant servings, are upgrading from a takeaway service to a contemporary Italian restaurant, set to serve more than 100 diners later this year.

Work is already underway on the latest Fat Toni expansion which now boasts bases in Quedgeley as well as Bishop’s Cleeve and Cheltenham.

Henry’s Seafood Bar & Grill in Cirencester

Oysters, caviar, Newlyn lobsters and delicious St Ives’ crab are on the menu from May 2022 at the former Harry Hares hotspot.

Modern art now lines the walls alongside new furniture which includes bespoke oak dining tables from local craft makers.
