Neptune Rum enjoys pre-Christmas sales surge with new owners at the helm

Cheltenham-based Neptune Rum has enjoyed an exceptional end to 2020 – by selling on Amazon, updating its own online shop, introducing a new Caribbean Spiced variety and more developments.

Having been rescued from administration by two entrepreneurs earlier this year, Cheltenham-headquartered Neptune Rum is enjoying a more positive end to 2020, with sales described as ‘soaring by a record 1,000 per cent’ in November 2020.

The business was purchased by James Strickland and Raymond Pugh after the Covid crisis thwarted Neptune Rum’s international growth plans, and the duo have since embarked on a mission to secure the long-term future of the award-winning premium rum brand.

Since taking over in June 2020, the former Passionate About People recruitment business owners have successfully launched onto Amazon and other online retailers, created an online shop for direct orders and launched an new Caribbean Spiced version of Neptune Rum.

Just in time for Christmas, the launch of a gift range of bottles, mixers, glasses and wooden boxes has also made Neptune Rum a popular corporate gift choice for Gloucestershire employers looking to treat their team to a special present with local provenance.

Neptune Rum’s new owners have said they hope 2021 will see the company rekindle its global ambitions to penetrate international markets, as well as more supermarkets, bars and restaurants in the UK.

With a new urban clothing range being added to the offering and an exclusive bar set to open in the spring 2021 too. Watch this space for more to come.
