Multi-million-pound Golden Valley Development contractor has been named

Cheltenham Borough Council has announced its preferred development partner for the £400 million Golden Valley Development with the first phase due to be completed in 2022.

HBD X Factory, a joint venture between UK property developer HBD and international innovation campus developer Factory, is the preferred development partner for the Golden Valley Development.

Cheltenham Borough Council has announced that HBD X Factory as its preferred development partner for the multi-million-pound Golden Valley Development.

The Golden Valley Development will be a joint venture between UK property developer HBD and the international innovation campus developer Factory and was chosen from a shortlist of three after 12 months of searching for a firm.

Minister for Digital Infrastructure Matt Warman said: ‘Cheltenham is an engine of growth for the UK’s cyber security sector and the Golden Valley development will play a major role cementing the country’s place as a global leader in the field. We are investing to help cyber security businesses across the country tackle barriers to growth and boost people’s digital skills so we can usher in a golden age in UK tech.’

The project will see the creation of up to 12,000 new jobs, 3,700 homes and two million square feet of commercial space which will form part of a visionary integrated campus which will focus on cyber and digital innovation.

Pulling together to deliver the global opportunity for Gloucestershire, HBD X Factory will help to realise Golden Valley Development, delivering the UK’s first truly integrated innovation and residential neighbourhood of its kind.

Adam Brady of HBD X Factory, said: ‘HBD X Factory focus on truly transformative regeneration projects and delivering world leading new districts throughout the UK. The Golden Valley Development is a really exciting project and we look forward to bringing it to life.’

While Jeremy Bamberg of HBD X Factory added: ‘There’s so much excitement and momentum in Cheltenham and the wider region; Golden Valley will only accelerate this. Together with our partner HBD, we’re eager to contribute our international network and expertise and support the Council in making this a global success.’

The first phase of the Golden Valley Development is due to be completed in 2022.
