New Robert Hitchins scheme could create hundreds of jobs in Gloucestershire

Major Gloucestershire developer Robert Hitchins could create hundreds of new local jobs, with its plans to build two new business units in Stonehouse already generating ‘strong occupier interest.’

Robert Hitchins, one of the biggest developers in the region, said its plans for two new business units in Stonehouse could create hundreds of new jobs.

Major Gloucestershire developer Robert Hitchins has revealed plans to build more than 75,000 square feet of new business premises at Stroudwater 13 Business Park in Stonehouse.

The Boddington-based firm, which is also developing a major outlet site off Junction 9 of the M5 at Tewkesbury, said it was ‘moving forward’ with its plans for a scheme on the Stroudwater 13 Business Park.

Robert Hitchins said it had been encouraged by ‘strong occupier interest’ and planned to build two new units of 53,500 square foot and 22,000 square foot, with ‘the potential to provide hundreds of new jobs.’

Michael Plimmer, senior development manager at Robert Hitchins, said: ‘It offers a great opportunity for new industrial, manufacturing and warehouse development, either on a freehold or leasehold basis, in an area which has been starved of any significant commercial development for some time due to the lack of available employment land.

‘The infrastructure is complete and the site has recently been cleared and readied for development. We hope to be in a position to deliver the buildings in the first quarter of 2023.’

Cushman and Wakefield and Alder King have been appointed as agents and ‘strong occupier interest’ had come from trade counter, storage and distribution and manufacturing businesses.

Stroudwater Business Park is already home to companies including Schlumberger, Renishaw, Dairy Crest, Dentsply and Delphi.
