Gloucestershire residents can soon be among the very first to see inside the newly transformed BA 747 Negus ‘party plane’ based at Cotswold Airport.

If you’ve yet to step on board the BA 747 Negus ‘party plane’ at Cotswold Airport on the outskirts of Cirencester, the unique venue is set to open to the public this March 2022.

As part of the agreement that saw the jumbo jet retired during the pandemic and sold to Cotswold Airport in Kemble for just £1, as well as being one of the county’s most unique party venues, Negus 747 will also be maintained as a museum – with the first tours starting this week.

Allowing visitors to see areas that would usually be off-limits, the tours will take place every half an hour from 9am on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with last entry at 3.30pm.

Ticketholders will be able to spend up to one hour on board, during which time they can explore both the upper and lower decks of the aircraft, play at flying first class, visit the cockpit and see where the economy seats were removed to make way for the dancefloor.

Tickets are released two weeks in advance and cost £10 for adults, with one free child entry per adult ticket sold, with additional children aged 12 and under costing £5 each.

The plane opens to the public on Wednesday 2 March 2022, with entry restricted to those who have booked timed entry tickets online in advance.
