A new Cotswolds version of Monopoly might not be ready to cause family rows this Christmas, but it will be on sale for spring 2022.

The property trading game will see classic London addresses replaced by locations in the Cotswolds.

More than 30 towns, villages and landmarks – potentially including places like Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Campden, the Cotswold Way and Cirencester Amphitheatre, for example – are set to be featured, including themes such as leisure, shopping, entertainment and education.

The Cotswolds is being celebrated in boardgame style after competing against 19 other areas of outstanding beauty across the UK, beating the likes of Snowdonia, Norfolk Broads and Peak District.

While a Gloucestershire Monopoly and Cheltenham Monopoly (featuring SoGlos!) already exist, the new Cotswolds Monopoly is set to be a lovely addition to the boardgame collection of locals.

With plenty of time to debate just what will replace the pricey Mayfair square…
