Based in Staverton, and boasting annual turnover in excess of £10 million, the company works with the world’s best engineers and designers, specialising in the development of complex next-generation engineering, with cutting-edge skills and exceptional capabilities in research and development as well as repeat manufacture.

The growing and ambitious firm works across an impressively diverse set of industries, delivering mission-critical components across defence, aerospace and space to marine, oil and gas and medical industries.

How its highly-skilled team is key to its success

Pivotal to the success of Future Advanced Manufacture is its highly-skilled team of leading engineers, programmers, project managers and designers who consistently deliver engineering excellence.

Privately-owned and established for 45 years, Future Advanced Manufacture has 55,000 sq ft facilities over two adjacent Gloucestershire sites, and proudly holds Cyber Essentials Plus certification to undertake classified work.

Chairman and managing director Ashok D'Sa said: ‘Since acquiring the business in 2021, we set out ambitious plans for growth, to double the business over a five-year period, and we are on track to do so.

‘Customers choose us for fundamentally two reasons. It’s our capability – not only have we got great machines, but more importantly, we have great machinists which we have trained over the last 40 years. That’s really a differentiator.

‘The other point of difference is our high level of service. We are very quick, we are very responsive, we are very flexible.’

Future Advanced Manufacture’s sales and marketing director Samuel Wood said: ‘Anybody could set up a machine shop and buy a machine, but here at Future it’s really the people and their engineering expertise which is the reason why clients return to us on a regular basis.’

Continuing the county's aerospace legacy

For over a century, Gloucestershire has been at the heart of British aviation and precision aerospace manufacturing – and Future Advanced Manufacture is continuing this proud legacy.

One of many recent notable aerospace projects saw the company working with one of the largest and most prestigious global aerospace manufacturers in the world.

This global giant is known for its market-leading products and Future Advanced Manufacture has been its innovation partner for the last 25 years.

This client needed an advanced wing prototype for a next-generation aircraft project. Using advanced computer-aided-design tools, Future Advanced Manufacture worked closely with the client’s engineering team to finalise the design of the wing prototype, ensuring it incorporated all required specifications for performance, aerodynamics and strength.

The requirements from the client were evolving, so Future Advanced Manufacture cleverly incorporated an element of flexibility in its approach.

Cutting-edge technology in expert hands

To make the prototype and guarantee pinpoint precision, Future Advanced Manufacture used its most advanced five-axis machining technologies to ensure that every part was manufactured to meet the client’s exact specifications.

Each component was thoroughly inspected using advanced measuring tools, ensuring the wing prototype met all dimensional and structural standards and the highest standards of quality and reliability.

The wing prototype will play a crucial role in the client’s ongoing product development, offering valuable insights that will guide the advancement of its next-generation aircraft.
