Cotswold Sculpture Park's beautiful amphitheatre will be the setting for three special shows this summer.

A true hidden Cotswold gem, Cotswold Sculpture Park in Somerford Keynes is the setting for three special open-air theatre shows this summer – taking place in its purpose built amphitheatre, lovingly handcrafted from local stone and nestled within the woods.

An intentionally intimate outdoor venue which is open to the elements – good or bad! – guests are advised to dress for the weather and bring a cushion to sit on to make the experience more comfortable. Plus, the Poppin tearoom will be open and serving hot food before the show, while the onsite bar will be stocked with wine, beer and soft drinks.

The Railway Children at Cotswold Sculpture Park amphitheatre

Presented by The Paperback Theatre Company, follow Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis who have been swept off to the English countryside by 'Mom', who is suddenly far too busy to play with them. Left to explore their new home, it's not long before the railway calls from the bottom of the garden. As the children follow the tracks to the local station, they discover a whole new world with some slightly strange characters, romance, peril and questions that definitely need answering...

Based on the classic 1906 novel of the same name, this unique performance of The Railway Children by the Birmingham-based company promises a fast pace, witty energy and unpatronising approach to engaging the audience.

Tickets cost £19 for adults and £12 for under 18s. Under fives and babes in arms are free of charge. for more information and to book, visit cotswoldsculpturepark.co.uk/the-railway-children-presented-by-the-paperback-theatre-company/.

Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Governor’s Nose at Cotswold Sculpture Park amphitheatre

Local company, Jenny Wren Productions, is returning to the Cotswold Sculpture Park amphitheatre for the third year with this new production.

Holmes and Watson are called upon to investigate the disappearance of a legendary painting, 'The Governor’s Nose', but all is not as elementary as it seems.

As mysterious forces – and an assortment of shady characters – work to undermine the heroes, they need all the wit, guile, and deduction capabilities in their arsenal, along with the help of the steadfast Mrs Hudson and Detective 'Always-One-Step-Behind' Lestrade.

The theatre company describes Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Governor’s Nose as 'a comic new play, based on The Naval Treaty and The Man with the Twisted Lip, with apologies to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle'.

Tickets cost £16 for adults and £12 for under 16s. Under fives and babes in arms are free of charge. For more information and to book, visit cotswoldsculpturepark.co.uk/sherlock-holmes-and-the-mystery-of-the-governors-nose-presented-by-jenny-wren-productions/.

The Comedy of Errors at Cotswold Sculpture Park amphitheatre

One of Shakespeare’s earliest and wildest farcical plays, The Comedy of Errors tells the story of twin sons and their twin servants, separated in a shipwreck. The play explores themes of identity, mistaken identity and family as audiences find out what happens when the twins unknowingly find themselves in the same town on the same day. The ultimate recipe for chaos!

The Festival Players will bring live original music, comedy, fast-paced story telling, traditional costume and more to Cotswold Sculpture Park, in what is their 41st open-air summer theatre tour.

Tickets cost £19.25 for adults, £17.25 for over 65s and under 16s. Under fives and babes in arms are free of charge. For more information and to book, visit cotswoldsculpturepark.co.uk/the-comedy-of-errors-presented-by-the-festival-players/.
