With the great British summertime in mind, the aptly named Rain or Shine Theatre Company brings its summer production of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors to Gloucestershire this September.

Celebrating its 25th year of bringing pop-up theatre to communities across the UK, Rain or Shine is Gloucester's only professional theatre company and is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation.

Taking to the outdoor stage on Saturday 2 September 2023, the company's vibrant and energetic actors are bringing the comedic drama to Hailes Abbey near Cheltenham, for a homecoming performance on the final weekend of a successful three-month tour.

The venue offers a unique, open-air setting, steeped in rich history, with its grassy gardens and ancient ruins — helping to provide the perfect atmosphere for an evening of Shakespearean laughs.

The story takes audiences to ancient Greece, as they follow the story of two sets of twins. After being separated in a shipwreck, the quest to be reunited is met with cases of mistaken identity and confused capers — and hilarity ensues!

Gates open for this performance at 5pm, with the show starting at 6pm and running for approximately two-and-a-half hours, with a 15-minute interval.

Please note that audience members must bring their own chairs.

Ticket prices start at £8 for children aged five to 15-years-old, £15 for over-60s, with adult tickets costing £16. Tickets are non-refundable.
