Edith Nesbit’s beloved story The Railway Children is being brought to life for a special outdoor theatre performance at Gloucester Cathedral this summer.

Taking place on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 August 2021, Gloucestershire theatre company, Jenny Wren Productions, will take to the stage in the serene Cloister Garth – with Gloucester Cathedral itself providing a stunning backdrop for the shows.

Including live music and unique storytelling, the family-friendly performance tells tales of unexpected friendships, courage and community in a spectacular setting.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, camping chairs and a picnic to enjoy before the performance.

Tickets for The Railway Children at Gloucester Cathedral cost £12 per adult, £8 for under-16’s and are available from the Everyman Theatre box office.
