Sudeley Castle and Gardens has a brand-new exhibition, an egg-citing Easter egg hunt and half price admission for children this Easter 2024.

Families in Gloucestershire won't want to miss the chance to get half price children's admission to Sudeley Castle and Gardens this Easter, as it reopens its doors to the public for a very special year of celebrations.

This year marks Lady Ashcombe's 50th year as chatelaine of Sudeley Castle, making her its longest-serving steward, so there's a whole year of celebrations planned to mark the occasion.

Launching when Sudeley Castle reopens to the public on Tuesday 19 March 2024 — which is also Lady Ashcombe's birthday — there's a brand-new exhibition documenting Sudeley's American connections, dating back to when Lady Ashcombe first took on her role as chatelaine.

Especially for the Easter holidays, there's also an egg-citing new family trail, the Cracked It! Easter Egg Hunt, with a dozen giant eggs hidden around the castle grounds for families to find.

Beautifully decorated by professional artists and local children to tie in with Sudeley's royal connections, each egg contains a clue to help little explorers find one of the world's rarest eggs — the elephant bird egg from Madagascar — making their way around the castle's spectacular grounds as they search.

During the Easter weekend from Friday 29 March to Sunday 1 April 2024, there's even more fun activities to enjoy, including an egg and spoon race — plus there's tasty treats like afternoon tea available in the newly-upgraded Castle Coach House and Pavilion Cafe.

And as a special treat from Lady Ashcombe herself to celebrate her birthday and special anniversary year, Sudeley Castle is offering half price admission for children aged three to 15 throughout the Easter holidays from Saturday 23 March to Sunday 7 April 2024.

She said: 'We are excited to welcome visitors back to Sudeley Castle and Gardens as we embark on a year filled with celebration and discovery. The team has been working hard to create a fantastic programme of events for the whole family to enjoy — including the exhibition marking my 50-year milestone, a story that starts in the iconic 1970s!'
