Moreton Show returns to the Cotswolds this September 2024 with a packed programme of outdoor agricultural fun.
Set in 165 acres of farmland within the heart of Moreton-in-Marsh, the one-day festival combines the best of the British countryside, traditional values and a genuine passion for farming through activities, displays and exhibitions.
Established in 1949, Moreton Show has been entertaining families for 75 years and is now one of the largest agricultural shows in the UK — and the premier event in the Midlands.
This year, visitors have an eclectic mix of entertainment to look forward to. From cheering on young riders in the Shetland Pony Grand National and marvelling at the display of technique at the Farriery competition, to witnessing the showcase of the Clumber Spaniels and Strigidea Gun Dogs in the dog ring — you'd be barking mad to miss out!
Celebrating 75 years of its Horse of the Year Show, Moreton is hosting more than 30 qualifiers this year, including classics such as the Mountain and Moorland Ridden classes, plus the new ground-shaking addition of the Ridden Heavy Horse category.
The Arena Eventing Challenge also returns in 2024, after proving very popular last year, with individual riders or teams of four competing over a course of show jumps, before taking on a course of cross country obstacles in the quickest time to come out on top — it'll have you up out of your seat cheering.
Great for families, the show lets little ones get up close and personal with friendly farm animals and learn how they're all taken care of; while the Home and Garden Marquee provides the chance to browse Gloucestershire's finest local produce, as well as offering lessons from green-fingered growers themselves about how food goes from farm to plate.
Classes of fruits and vegetables are also judged and awarded at the Home and Garden area, with the introduction of a Young Adult Class, to encourage the next generation of farming talent.
There will be plenty to browse at the trade stands, with exhibitors including Kärcher UK, as well as local producers such as Henry's of Moreton, The Dairy at Honeydale and Trudi Haydon Art.
Four legged friends are welcome to come along, too, as long as they are kept on a fixed lead.
Discounted tickets for Moreton Show are now available to book online in advance via moretonshow.co.uk.
Please note the early bird discount ends on Wednesday 31 July 2024.
