Gloucestershire's leading media brand is recruiting a staff writer / copywriter to join its Creative Hub team in Cheltenham, creating compelling editorial, content marketing, and social media content for an engaged local audience – with a vacancy for a new team member to join at a staff writer or senior staff writer level, depending on previous experience.

The successful candidate will become an important part of the team – helping to tell Gloucestershire's most interesting stories and creating high-performing campaigns for some of the county's leading businesses and organisations.
About the staff writer / copywriter role at SoGlos
- Writing engaging lifestyle, business, and community content for SoGlos partners, as well as editorial articles
- Working closely with partners and our partnerships team to deliver creative, results-driven campaigns
- Publishing and managing content through SoGlos’s innovative in-house CMS
- Sub-editing team content to maintain SoGlos’s high editorial standards
- Creating standout social media content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Managing display advertising campaigns through Google AdManager
- Actively spotting story ideas, trends, and opportunities that will resonate with our audience
Who SoGlos is looking for?
- Able to quickly adapt to SoGlos’s fresh, positive, and timely house style
- Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Confident working directly with clients, with a professional and solutions-focused approach
- Meticulous with attention to detail, grammar, and spelling
- A strong communicator with a proactive and positive attitude
- Experienced creating engaging social media content – ideally across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Comfortable using digital tools and open to learning new systems
- Some SEO/AEO knowledge is advantageous
Salary and benefits
- £25,000 to £30,000 pro-rata, depending on experience
