The Sunday Times has voted Cheltenham to be the best place to live in the South West this year, thanks to its fantastic restaurants, bars, shops, schools and festivals, among other attributes.

Describing Cheltenham as ‘seriously festive’, The Sunday Times article recognises the hugely popular annual festivals, from literature to poetry, horse racing to jazz. Not only this, but it highlights the benefits of living in the countryside without missing out on the culture of a city.

Tracey Crews, director of planning at Cheltenham Borough Council said: ‘This announcement comes at one of the most unprecedented periods of change as we deal with the impacts of COVID-19.

‘Together we will get through this and build upon the positive success factors which has led to Cheltenham being voted the best place to live in the South West.’

The Sunday Times also celebrates Cheltenham’s focus on the future, as well as connections to cities such as Bristol, Birmingham and London.
