Offering everything from 'booze and ball games' to pottery studios, chic bars and wine barns, Gloucestershire is packed with exclusive new openings, popping up all over the county each month. 

To give you a taste, SoGlos rounds up nine of the most exciting Gloucestershire openings in September 2023... 

Roxy Lanes, Cheltenham

Roxy Lanes is set to open in Cheltenham on Friday 29 September 2023, featuring ten pin bowling, karaoke, shuffleboard, darts, arcade games and more on the High Street.

Cheltenham will be the 17th site for the Roxy Leisure group following its most recent nearby launches in Birmingham and Bristol, offering over 50 games for visitors to enjoy — along with drinks and food, too.

Vinotopia, Nailsworth

Calling all wine-lovers! Nailsworth-based specialist wine merchants, Vinotopia Wine, is bringing Gloucestershire’s first wine barn to the Cotswolds on Friday 8 September 2023.

The new luxury retail destination will offer more than 400 lines of wines, spirits and beers; along with pop-up food festival events, outdoor seating and a farm shop on the menu, too.

Montpellier Wine Bar, Cheltenham

After undergoing an extensive refurbishment taken on by new management, Cheltenham's iconic Montpellier Wine Bar will welcome guests in once again, this September 2023.

Celebrating its reopening during Cheltenham Food + Drink Week (Monday 18 to Sunday 24 September 2023), the bar will be offering a special set menu, along with a selection of wines from a curated list. Each flight is set to have three wines featuring different profiles and tasting notes.

Boho on the Hill, Stroud

New cafe, Boho on the Hill, is set to move into the former Scrumptious Coffee Shop in Stroud's Chalford Hill on Friday 1 September 2023.

Stocked up with everything from gin and beers to cakes and burgers, there's something for the whole family to enjoy. 

Boho on the Hill is now open. 

Guilt Trip at Tank, Gloucester

Guilt Trip Coffee and Donuts will be available at Tank in Gloucester from Saturday 30 September 2023; opening from 9am, the brand will be serving up Guilt Trip coffee, donuts, sausage rolls and toasties each day until 5pm.

Partnering with one of the fastest-growing coffee shop chains in the south west, with joint ventures set to follow, this extends Tanks range with a unique offering in Gloucester Quays.

Daylesford’s The Bell at Charlbury

The Bell, in the Cotswold market town of Charlbury, has been refurbished from top to bottom and is set to open on Sunday 17 September 2023.

Later in the month, revellers can look forward to indulging in a selection of hearty classics with ingredient-led dishes that celebrate seasonal produce; inglenook fireplaces which offer cosy spots to enjoy a meal by the fire; and even an orchard garden, featuring apple trees and a stream running through it. 

Wildflower Illustration Co, Cheltenham

Offering a place where you will be able to come in, write a card or letter at a large writing desk with a cup of tea of coffee, try out their pens and art materials at your leisure and leave feeling refreshed and inspired, Wildflower Illustration Co. is set to open doors this September 2023.

While an opening date is yet to be confirmed, the business hopes to welcome visitors in from the middle of the month.

The Potthouse Collective, Cheltenham


Clay at the ready... Coming to Cheltenham from Monday 18 September 2023, The Potthouse Collective is set to be a haven for pottery and ceramics fans across the county — whether you're a first-timer or semi-professional! 

The new venture is a community focused not-for-profit pottery studio providing space for pottery classes, independent pottery and studio space for local artists. The business hopes to provide a welcoming space for the creatives of Gloucestershire, opportunities for people to learn and local artists to teach.

Bombay & Co, Cheltenham


Bombay & Co on Cheltenham’s High Street is moving to a big premises on Saturday 2 September 2023, with the popular restaurant set to continue serving up colourful, authentic dishes from all over India, here in Gloucestershire.

Opening on Portland Street, the new venue will feature a wall of Mumbai-inspired street art designed by Cheltenham Paint Festival founder, Andy Davies.

Bombay & Co is now open.
