The list below is just a sample of the some of the many events taking place across Gloucestershire every month to support, engage with, nurture, encourage, energise, education and bring together the county's business community.
Calling all young entrepreneurs and creatives
One of the county's most exciting workspaces, Jolt, is due to stage what it calls its Jolt Co-Labs on the first Thursday of every month from 6.30pm.
It is free for those aged between 18 to 30 to attend. There will be complementary food and drink and the invitation is out there to creative entrepreneurs, students, crafters, makers and up and coming start-ups.
This networking event is aimed at fostering and developing the county's very youngest business people. It is due to take place on Thursday 2 February 2023 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Jolt, in Kings Square, Gloucester.
The Nelson Trust breakfast networking event
This is one of a series of monthly breakfast networking events staged by the Nelson Trust for charities and social enterprises.
The events are all about bringing together organisations that are looking to collaborate, forge partnerships, share ideas and support one another. There will also be a guest speaker too (yet to be announced).
The Nelson Trust exists to help people overcome the impact of addiction on their lives, operates county-wide and is headquartered in Brimscombe, Stroud.
The networking event is due to take place at The Sober Parrot, St James' Square, Cheltenham, from 9am to 10.30am, on Friday 3 February 2023.
Gloucestershire Engineering Training open evening
Individuals interested in engineering are invited to take a guided tour of the sector’s specialist training centre, Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET).
The highly respected centre on Corinium Avenue develops the current and next generation of staff for some of county’s very best companies, big and small.
As well as being shown around the facilities, visitors will have the chance to chat to staff members and current apprentices and see demonstrations of the kind of work GET helps companies excel at.
The open evening will take place on Tuesday 7 February 2023 and is free of charge. Anyone wishing to attend can book a place via eventbrite.co.uk.
Apprenticeships on offer at Renishaw
Engineering giant Renishaw, which has its headquarters in Gloucestershire, currently has a number of apprenticeships up for grabs, including building maintenance (Level 2), commercial (Level 3), manufacturing (Level 3), IT support technician (Level 3), electrician (Level 3), field service engineer (Level 4), software tester (Level 4), manufacturing engineer (Level 5), embedded electronic engineer (Level 5) and software engineer (Level 5).
Applications are currently still open for all these roles, but close on Sunday 12 February 2023, with more information on Renishaw’s website to find out more. Or you can attend the careers evening at its Wotton-under-Edge headquarters on Thursday 9 February 2023 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Strategy made easy seminar
Just one of the plethora of events staged by the county-wide Growth Hub across its network every month, this one will be brought to you by Clayton Manley, from the Business Doctors, based in Cheltenham.
Manley will discuss business strategy and how to simplify it, with a particular focus on developing a road map for your business.
Seminars are due to take place at The Growth Hub in Cirencester on Thursday 9 February 2023 from 10am to 1pm and then again in the Forest of Dean Growth Hub on Thursday 23 February 2023 from 10am to 1pm.
Cirencester businesses shooting expedition
Cirencester Chamber of Commerce is due to stage one of its members-only networking events on 11 February 2023, one of a series of such gatherings aiming to mix business and pleasure.
This February meeting will see members from the town’s business community gather for a morning of clay pigeon shooting at Hollow Fosse Clay Shoot, five miles outside Cirencester.
The cost to members is £45 per head and will include 50 shots with tuition/supervision, all the necessary PPE plus tea and coffee. If you are a member, you can book through Eventbrite.co.uk.
Entrepreneurs' network event with Start and Grow Enterprise
Start and Grow Enterprise, which exists to support, advise and nurture the county's entrepreneurs as they start out of their journeys, is due to stage its monthly networking event on Wednesday 15 February 2023.
Due to take place at Start and Grow Enterprise’s headquarters, The Growth Hub, Oxstalls, Gloucester, the event’s format offers an array of insightful talks from inspiring local start-ups, professional and business owners, a valuable 'skills exchange session' and a chance to meet new and existing entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Light refreshments will be available and there is onsite parking (£2.55 for the day by card). The event is due to run from 10am to noon.
BID networking lunch at Cheltenham Ladies' College
Join Cheltenham BID, the group that exists to support the business improvement district for Cheltenham town centre, for this networking lunch at Parabola Arts Centre.
It's billed as a chance to catch up with the BID team, meet new business contacts, understand how the organisation can help your business, and enjoy a guided tour of Cheltenham Ladies' College by its archivist, Rachel Roberts.
Tickets are free for BID levy payers and £20 for everyone else. The lunch is due to take place on Wednesday 22 February 2023 at Parabola Arts Centre, Parabola Road.
Championing employer supported policing
Business leaders from across the county are invited along to The Sabrina Centre at Gloucestershire Technology Park in Berkeley to learn about employer supported policing (ESP).
According to Gloucestershire Constabulary this is a chance to learn how ESP can benefit your business, as well as to enjoy a little networking and complimentary refreshments.
You will learn about how ESP can help with staff development at little cost, how it can improve staff moral and motivation, lead to greater staff retention and lower recruitment costs and become a key marketable enhancement of corporate social responsibility. It is due to take place on Wednesday 22 February 2023 from 6pm to 8pm.
