With everything from Jubilee celebrations to Cheltenham Science Festival taking place in Gloucestershire in June, SoGlos rounds up our pick of business events to put in your diary for the month ahead.

1. Start and Grow Enterprise online Business Planning Workshop

Start and Grow Enterprise is dedicated to helping fledgling Gloucestershire firms fly, with the experts in support and advice staging a Business Planning Workshop this Wednesday 1 June 2022 from 10am to 1pm.

Experienced business leader, Julian Grail, will deliver the three-hour session via Zoom, aiming to give businesses insights into their customers and markets; how to make enough money; and help them fully understand their business and its direction.

2. Jubilunch in Cheltenham

Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce, Cheltenham BID and hospitality sector group TURF Cheltenham are teaming up to deliver Jubilunch – a street food event on Cheltenham’s Regent Street celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday 3 June 2022 from 12pm to 6pm.

Giving residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy food and drink laid on specially by independent Cheltenham businesses, companies including Stay Lets; Markey Group; Spirax Sarco; Neptune Apartments; Gemini Financial Planning; Prestbury Marketing; CTIH security; and Gloucester Carpet Outlet have all donated to make the free event possible.

3. CyNam 22.2 – Web3: Worldwide Wellbeing or Worldwide Weapon?

Join Gloucestershire’s dynamic and ever-growing cyber-focused business networking and support group as it stages its headline summer event, CyNam 22.2, in collaboration with Cheltenham Science Festival.

A stellar line up of industry pros is promised to help demystify the subject of Web3, blockchain and crypto currency, with tickets for the event, which is taking place on Tuesday 7 June 2022 from 8pm to 9.30pm at Helix Auditorium in Imperial Square, selling fast.

4. GFirst LEP Annual Review 2022

The first public annual review of Gloucestershire’s powerful local enterprise partnership since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic is taking place on Wednesday 15 June 2022.

The event is by invitation-only and will see GFirst LEP’s leadership team, led by Ruth Dooley and David Owen, deliver its achievements over the last 12 months, including details of the county’s post-pandemic recovery and unveil the plans for the future – with SoGlos reporting on the results after the event, for anyone who didn’t attend in person.

5. Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire Conference 2022

The county’s branch of sector group Constructing Excellence is due to stage its 2022 conference – its first since 2019, due to the pandemic – at the University of Gloucestershire’s School of Business and Technology on Wednesday 22 June 2022.

Some 35 exhibitors and 200 people are expected, giving guests the chance to chat to exhibitors from across a broad swathe of businesses and professions and listen to industry leaders. The theme of this year’s event is Building a Healthy Industry, with the exhibition due to open its doors at 2pm and keynote speeches and workshops taking place throughout the afternoon.

6. Gloucester 10K

Gloucester 10K is not only organised by Gloucestershire legal firm, Davies and Partners, the event which is due to take place on Sunday 26 June 2022 from 8.30am, is sponsored by construction firm EG Carter and supported by the likes of Gloucester Rotary; SK Heating & Cooling; Creed Foodservices; Gloucester Quays; the Canal and Rivers Trust; Gloucester Sports; and Gloucester Cathedral – with all funds raised gong to good causes.

There’s also a challenge to companies across the county to enter a team to win its corporate challenge race within a race at this year’s event.

7. Gloucestershire Business Show 2022

Described as two days of great business discussion and thinking, the Gloucestershire Business Show 2022 is taking place at Cheltenham Town Hall on Wednesday 29 June 2022 from 4pm.

The business show’s model is to embrace a wide range of topical issues, delivering everything from a live business exhibition and networking, to speakers and discussion groups, including individuals and business from Gloucestershire and beyond.

8. Reaching Digital Nirvana: It is possible?

Cheltenham-based Bamboo Technology Group and the cyber business networking group CyNam are joining forces ‘to bring an exclusive insight to the digital transformation process’. The partnership hosts Reaching Digital Nirvana: It is possible? with ‘a fantastic mix of panelists who will be exploring the stages, methodologies, and considerations of a successful digital transformation program, whilst drawing on their own experiences’.

Taking place at on Thursday 30 June 2022 from 3pm to 5pm, it aims to deliver some perspective on the impact a digital transformation process has on business technology, culture, behaviours and change management.
