‘Tis the season to be jolly and SoGlos has found 7 festive film screenings across Gloucestershire that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy — with charming characters, seasonal songs and heart-warming stories set to sprinkle festive cheer, this December 2022.

Elf at St Andrew's Church in Cheltenham

You'd have to be a cotton-headed ninny-muggins to miss Elf on Friday 16 December 2022 - the first of the festive films that are being screened by Alfresco Film Company at St Andrew's Church in Montpellier, as part of its Christmas at the Movies series.

The pop-up cinema is sure to give families a festive glow as the little ones laugh at the antics and misfortunes of Buddy the elf as he finds himself thrust from Santa's workshop into the human world! Adult tickets are £12 and £9 for children under 16.

The Holiday at St Andrew's Church in Cheltenham

Catch the Alfresco Film Company's screening of The Holiday at St Andrew's Church on Friday 16 December 2022. Unexpected love is found when Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet agree to house swap for the festive season, with hilarity and good vibes along the way.

Adult tickets are £12 and it costs £9 for children aged 16 and under.

Frozen sing-a-long at The Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham

Join Queen Elsa, Princess Anna and funny snowman favourite, Olaf, for a special sing-a-long screening of Disney's ​Frozen​ at The Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham on Tuesday 20 December 2022. Belt out hits such as ​Let It Go ​and ​Do You Want to Build a Snowman? ​and get into the frosty festive spirit with this modern Christmas classic. ​

Tickets cost £11 for adults and £9 for children, who will also receive a present left by Santa!

The Nutcracker at Gloucester Guildhall

An enchanting Christmastime classic, The Nutcracker ​will be performed by the Royal Ballet at London's Royal Opera House in what has become a quintessential yuletide tradition. If you can't make it to the capital, Gloucester Guildhall is bringing London to you on Thursday 8 December 2022, with a live stream of the festive fairy tale for the whole family to enjoy.

Tickets start from £12.75 per person.

Dick Whittington and his Cat at Wotton Electric Picture House

One for the little ones, the CBeebies annual festive show is back on the big screen this year — with Dick Whittington and his Cat screening at Wotton Electric Picture House in Wotton-under-Edge on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December 2022. Kids will love the catchy songs and dance performances from the star cast of presenters and on-screen talent.

Tickets cost £8.30 per adult and £5 for children under 12.

The Snowman in Concert at Cheltenham Town Hall

The Muppet Christmas Carol at Vue Cinema in Stroud

Join Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest of the muppet gang as they retell the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge’s encounter with the three ghosts of Christmas.

Showing at Vue Cinema in Stroud from Saturday 3 December to Thursday 29 December 2022, the comedic adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol is one for the whole family. Tickets prices and timings vary.
