Sam's Montpellier

A dedicated and passionate resident mixologist is on hand at this stylish little spot, tucked away in Montpellier Courtyard. Choose from a strawberry daiquiri or a blackberrytini, or go for a pure classic. If you fancy food to go with your carefully crafted cocktail, there is an array of small light bites to choose from.

The Alchemist

Big on surprises, this hotspot in The Brewery Quarter is all about the theatrical. Think exploding bubbles, steam rising from your drink and a whole lot more.

Frequently gracing plenty of Insta stories, this is a place to show off your selection before savouring every sip.

Memsahib Gin & Tea Bar

Intimate, atmospheric and independent, this is an Indian-inspired cocktail spot for the discerning. Down in the basement of this town centre hotspot, you're in for a treat with gin infused teapots and Cheltenham Slings and Memsahib Stars aplenty.

The Queens Hotel

The grande dame of Cheltenham, sitting proudly at the top of The Promenade, offers classic cocktails and elegant surroundings to drink them in. It's recently undergone a refurbishment, so it's looking its best.

Its fabulous fruity cocktails are best enjoyed in the lounge or Victoria's Restaurant.

Malmaison Cheltenham

With high ceilings and a beautiful conservatory, this spacious and airy spot is where you forget about your cares as you raise a glass to good times. There are more than 20 cocktails to choose from with a good selection of mocktails too.

The olive and lemon verbena martini has got our name on it...

Hotel du Vin

Classy, cosy and comfortable, at Hotel du Vin there's a relaxed vibe in this stunning setting that exudes a celebration of the good life.

Take a sip of good vibes, shaken up at its small bar and served in its spacious lounge. A glorious spot!

Gin & Juice

It's good looking, on-trend and at the pricier end. In the basement of Julian Dunkerton's 131 hotel on The Promenade, it also attracts big crowds throughout the week and weekend. Not one for a 'quiet cocktail', it's a high energy drinking spot that's a hit with younger crowds.

The selection of gins on offer has to be seen to believed - it makes choosing a delightfully lengthy and considered process!

The Botanist

Another favourite in The Brewery Quarter, this is the spot to have fun with friends against a leafy, urban vibe with live music often adding to the lively atmosphere.

Take a seat on the high stools or recline in the garden room; wherever you choose, you're in for a treat.

The Clarence Social

The former headquarters of the Gloucestershire Echo newspaper is now a stylish spot for an array of cocktails, often with happy hour offers to make what you're sipping taste even sweeter.

It's small, but perfectly formed - with a moody basement, slick ground floor space and an attractive restaurant up in the rafters.

The Urban Fox

This cocktail bar in Montpellier is open from Tuesday to Sunday with two for £12 from 5pm to 7pm. It's a great place to catch up with friends and has plenty of cupcakes to enjoy with your drinks, too.

Offering style and substance, it's a real winner.

Imperial Haus

Known for its enchanting feel, it's like stepping into a wonderland with swings, crystal encrusted cocktails and neon signs pointing the way to your next drink.

The nightclub vibe makes it one for a big night out, rather than a couple of casual cocktails. Find it opposite Cheltenham Town Hall.

Tivoli Cinema Cheltenham

The swanky basement cocktail bar at Cheltenham's independent cinema in Regent Arcade is second to none. Drinks here are crisp, precise and served in sparkling glassware without the merest hint of a smudge.

Ask for a Mai Tai and be swept to sunny shores with every heavenly sip.
