Revolutionary digital media brand SoGlos is proud to celebrate its 18-year anniversary this July 2025 – marking a significant milestone in its journey to inform, inspire and connect audiences across Gloucestershire.

Established in 2007 with a mission to champion Gloucestershire in an innovative way, SoGlos has invested almost two decades into consistently showcasing the very best of the county – from highlighting thriving local businesses and impactful community initiatives to covering significant news and key cultural events.

As a culmination of its 18-year journey, 2025 has been one of the most significant periods of growth and innovation for SoGlos – with key new developments being unveiled and some of the most significant goals in its history having been achieved in the past 12 months.

Unparalleled trust and reputation

Reaching this 18-year milestone is perhaps most significant as a symbol of SoGlos’s longevity.

It is a considerable tenure in Gloucestershire as both a trusted local title and respected local business.

While on a national scale, the digital brand that began as an ambitious start-up has grown to become one of the only self-sustaining independents in regional media.

Valued for its editorial quality, digital innovation and meaningful partnerships with organisations across the region, the trust and reputation SoGlos has earned over 18-years is unparalleled.

Largest audience yet

In July 2025, SoGlos now reaches its largest audience of more than 1.6 million every month across its platforms.

Social media following is at an all-time high, with more than 101,000 followers. This includes amassing almost 10,000 followers on its swiftly growing LinkedIn channel. With its newly relaunched TikTok channel also garnering tens of thousands of views for its videos and a growing following.

Subscriptions to the weekly lifestyle and business newsletter are also growing steadily – all meaning SoGlos audiences have more ways to enjoy its journalist-crafted content and partners are gaining better exposure than ever.

Increasing community focus

In May 2025, SoGlos introduced a brand-new community section – with SoGlos's remit now spanning a trio of core focuses: business, lifestyle and community in Gloucestershire.

The new Gloucestershire Lifestyle & Community Awards has also been launched building on the success of the Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards – giving more opportunity for SoGlos to support and recognise local initiatives, as well as helping to build a more informed, connected and collaborative local culture in the county.

A new HQ and growing team

The SoGlos team said 'hello' to SLG's ultra-modern open-plan offices in the heart of The Brewery Quarter in April 2025 – bidding farewell to the Regency offices on Imperial Square in Cheltenham that had been home for ten years.

Coinciding with the move to Gloucestershire’s coolest offices, SoGlos also launched its biggest ever recruitment drive in a bid to find some of the most talented sales superstars in the county – which is ongoing.

Enhanced partnership opportunities

Demonstrating what makes SoGlos a successful marketing platform for so many long-term partners in the county, the latest SoGlos mediakit has been unveiled.

SoGlos has also expanded its range of advertising services, offering partners the most modern marketing solutions available in the county, with enhanced reporting through its proprietry system, SoCMS.

Looking forward

SoGlos’s 18th year signals not only a celebration of past achievements, but also the chance to take steps forward in its ongoing evolution as Gloucestershire’s unequivocal leading media brand.

As SoGlos enters a new year, the team remains focused on its core purpose: to provide a trusted platform that celebrates Gloucestershire an incredible place to live, work and visit.

‘Reaching our 18th year is a proud moment for the whole team,’ said Michelle Fyrne, co-founder and CEO. ‘We set out with a vision to create a modern, digital-first media platform that not only revolutionises regional media, but truly reflects and supports Gloucestershire. That commitment remains at the heart of everything we do.’
